All three groups offered varied programmes, with some quite demanding pieces for the Junior Girls especially. Confidence and enjoyment grew visibly, particularly in Shelagh Harris’ outstanding Training Choir who performed five items on the night, including Caribbean Carol and a piece by Peter Warlock.
The programme for the Boys’ Choir, directed by David Victor-Smith, was notable for some beautifully clear sound and diction and incorporated carols from John Rutter, Venezuela and Austria.
