Joint concert with Hood River Valley, March 2011
After 36 hours of travelling, FYC's guests from Oregon (USA), the Hood River Valley Chamber Singers and their Director, Mark Steighner, arrived in Farnham at the United Reformed Church for a rehearsal prior to being welcomed by hosting families and taken 'home' for a good night's sleep!
Early the next morning the group travelled to Winchester for sight-seeing and a recital before returning to the church to prepare for the first concert of their UK tour, sharing the stage with FYC.
A tea was provided by FYC parents before the concert, during which the young people from different sides of the Atlantic had time to get to know each other.
