Our Boys Choir is the perfect starting point for vocal training and the development of confidence through performance in preparation for the main choir.
It is an upper-voice choir of boys in school years 5 and above, coming mainly from the area around Farnham, and conducted by Patrick Barrett.
The main aims are to provide a foundation of good singing technique and introduce youngsters to the fun and discipline of performing to a high standard. ‘Club’ and sporting activities add to the enjoyment and choir members frequently audition successfully for the Youth Choir.
The choir rehearses and performs from time-to-time with tenor and bass support. This gives members SATB experience, allows flexibility in handling the changing voice, and defines a path for choral singing after that time.
Entry is by audition and is normally in June for entry the following September but boys can be accepted at other times by arrangement with the conductor.
The choir rehearses weekly on Wednesdays during term time at Frensham Heights School in Farnham, starting at 5:15pm. There are also half-termly weekend training afternoons.
