The Junior Boys' and Junior Girls' Choirs were among performers to entertain an audience attending the second evening of the week-long Farnham Festival - New Music for Young People in the Great Hall at the Maltings.
The Junior Girls' choir under the direction of Catherine Watts opened the concert with three contrasting items, beautifully sung with great dynamic range and clear diction, before handing over the stage to the Junior Boys' choir led by Suzzie Vango. The boys sang four songs ranging from a haunting arrangement of The Lord's Prayer to a jaunty number from The Sound of Music.
In the second half of the concert the Juniors combined to perform with Suzzie a Ghanian 'Call and Response' number A Keelie that kept them on their toes, and they finished their performance with David Victor-Smith conducting them in Listen to the Lambs, a spiritual arranged by Australian-born Mark Puddy. Both choirs were accompanied at the piano by Allan Beattie.
