Catherine trained at the Royal College of Music. Whilst establishing herself as a freelance soprano, she sang with groups performing a wide variety of music. These included the Schutz Choir, Elisabethan Singers and Monteverdi Choir. She toured in a show by Donald Swann, recorded opera and was a member of the Welsh National Opera Company. She performed on both radio and television.

Catherine Watts’s mission
“Farnham Junior Girls'’ Choir was established to provide girls from the ages of 9 to 13 a comprehensive choral music experience in a positive learning environment of team work, vocal training and development of self-esteem.
Our aim is not only to engender the love of choral singing, but also, through training, give the girls high behavioural standards, a pride in their dress code, self-confidence and poise.
In addition to the discipline of weekly rehearsals, the girls have to attend one training Saturday per term where we foster team building through exercises, vocal and leadership skills, and most importantly the ability to have fun together.
Generally the choir perform once a term either with Farnham Youth Choir (to which they hope to aspire), in competitions, or elsewhere in the community.
