The massed voices of the Wimbledon Choral Society with Farnham Youth Choir were accompanied by a small chamber orchestra in a performance of the Rutter 'Mass of the Children' in Guildford Cathedral. The concert was attended by some 600 people who were clearly immensely pleased with the evening.

The Chairman of the Choral Society wrote to thank the team from Farnham "for their outstanding contribution. Feedback from the audience has been excellent.  Everyone I spoke to or heard from mentioned the stunning quality of the singing from the Youth Choir and how it added a terrific smoothness and roundness to the whole sound. "

He continued "What impressed many also was the discipline and politeness of the members of the Choir. All of these elements added up to enhancing the already extensive reputation of the FYC. "
Prior to the concert, FYC members took advantage of the empty Cathedral to 'test the acoustic', spreading themselves out informally around the space and up onto the vast stage that had been erected for the evening performance, to sing their a cappella repertoire. Several members of the Wimbledon Choral Society came in to listen.
